Poetic Matrix Press

If poets and lovers of poetry don't write, publish, read, and purchase poetry books then we will have no say in the quality of our contemporary culture and no excuse for the abuses of language, ideas, truth, beauty, and love in our cultural life.

Poetic Matrix Press 20th Anniversary

2017 is the 20th Anniversary of Poetic Matrix Press, now with close to 60 full length books. We are into our year long celebration of these books. Work has began on the Poetic Matrix Press author anthology. We are looking to place 2 poems from each book plus a new piece from each author and an updated bio.

If anyone reading this would like to recommend poems please do so. We will consider all recommendations in the final choices.

We've begun showcasing these poems on our Forever Journal blog at our website Poetic Matrix. We are planning a reading in the San Francisco Bay Area and one in San Diego. It has been a great 20 years and continues on.

Raphael Block in Concert

Raphael Block with guitarist David Field Raphael

Raphael Block in concert with guitarist David Field, Raphael reading from Strings of Shining Silence. Raphael and David have been in concert for sometime now. Watch for his next event.

I see that my central concern
throughout the collection is our
relationship to this wondrous earth.
Our very human world is also present
with its play of light and shadow, and
love's compass, spanning the
unlikely and unthinkable.

"Raphael Block's poetry reflects an empathy for all life. The voice of the poet recollects with insight and the quiet joys of life. A Shared panoply of the wonderful adventures in the garden of daily life when led with eyes, ears and feelings wide open. This collection is a strong, honest and intelligent work of seasoned poetry, aged like fine wine that a poetry lovers should experience."
J Glenn Evans – Poet, Novelist and Founder of PoetsWest

Note from Joan Michelson

"I published a new chapbook here (UK distribution only) with portrait sketches of residents in a home for assisted living, Boomvale Home. It is forthcoming in a dual-language Romanian-English edition this month (March). Also I won a publication prize from a London-Nigeria publisher (Sentinel Books) and I have a full collection with poems treating refugees and immigrants forthcoming in April. A decade's work coming to fruition."

Many of our titles are available at Small Press Distribution (SPD). All of our books can be ordered from your favorite bookstore and from Amazon.com. Go to Poetic Matrix to find out more about our titles.
