turns too fast on her bicycle,
feels her wheels flip up and she flies down to gravel on her elbow. Gravity’s hard work, gravity’s lack of humor.
Our own sun, chubby and sweaty, our burning Buddha, pulls us
with invisible strings, though
someday we will find the one equation that balances weightless
thoughts against stardust. How difficult it is some evenings just to climb the stairs.
“It’s a matter of entropy,” they say.
“Move faster.”
